US military believes it has dealt devastating and perhaps irreversible blows to al-Qaeda in Iraq in recent months

Here’s a good read I found at USNews.com and it starts off like this... On its front page this morning, the Washington Post reports that the US military "believes it has dealt devastating and perhaps irreversible blows to al-Qaeda in Iraq in recent months, leading some generals to advocate a declaration of victory over the group, which the Bush administration has long described as the most lethal US adversary in Iraq." The story goes on to describe the debate between those who believe declaring victory would provide a strong "psychological" boost to the overall US mission, and those believe "advantages overall would be minimal" if al Qaeda were able to show any "residual" ability to inflict damage...
